Radio: In which Martha Zoller asks senate candidate Gary Black about “people” reporting his 2011 position on amnesty

Radio host asks senate candidate about amnesty and allows that we need to “update” our legal immigration system

The below is a transcript (Rev.com) of the October 11, 2021 radio interview on WDUN – AM.

Scroll down to about half-way to see relevant exchange in bold.

Here is my June, 2021 write up on the fact that Georgia Ag Commish and senate candidate Gary Black told a U.S. Senate panel that the U.S.should legalize blackmarket labor farm workers with a work permit – and require them to stay in the Ag industry to keep that new legal status. Here is a July note on former Gov. Deal’s support for Black.

Martha Zoller has not invited me on her show to refute Black’s denial that he has proposed amnesty for these illegal aliens and she has not mentioned the indentured servitude angle. We are blacklisted cancelled in Georgia media. Even the “conservative” media.

*Don’t miss the part further down in which Zoller assures listeners and her candidate guest that we need to “update” our legal immigration system – is she advocating for an increase in numbers?

–>As is his habit when reality pops up on his amenity position, Black struggled to change the topic to H2A visas. We urge voters to hit the above write up link and see exactly what he told the same senate to which he wants to be elected.

Visa overstays not included.

We also note that neither Black nor Zoller told listeners that about half the illegal aliens in the U.S. today did not enter the U.S. illegally.

Host Martha Zoller: (00:00)
“Gary Black……  and he’s with me on the phone. And unlike, uh, President Joe Biden, who in his more than 50-year career, has never been to the U.S. border, uh, Gary Black ha- is… just came back from a trip to the United States border. Um, Gary, thank you for being with me today.

Gary Black: (00:17)
Think about this, Martha, we started talkin’ to each other on the regular 16 years ago. There’s a lot of [inaudible 00:00:24] we thought about, but none more serious than this. It’s- it’s been a very interesting weekend.

Host Martha Zoller: (00:29)
So, just give us an overview of what you did, what you saw while you were down there.

Gary Black: (00:34)
Well, very fortunate with some- some good contacts, uh, with customs, and border patrol, and the Texas Farm Bureau, and, uh, good friends there. Just said, “Look, we’ll- we’ll, uh…” Not a- not a, uh, a- a- a clean briefing. We- we wanna get in vehicles and let’s- let’s go see real activity. I was very fortunate over a period of about 36 hours to do that. We spent a good bit of Friday night on the border as close as 150 yards from the, uh, from the Rio Grande to the back paths where, uh, individuals seeking, you know, to gain entrance into, uh, into our country. You know, they pay $8,000 on the Mexican side to get in- into a boat, or a raft, or something, and then they’re ferried across, uh, and- and then we were able to see, uh, then just firsthand, Martha, literally, walking, uh, into freedom and into what has been created, uh, by the Biden and- and Warnock administration, uh, as I- I- I believe it is, uh, that way.

Gary Black: (01:36)
It’s a welcome center. We’ve set up a welcome center underneath, uh, one of the bridges there connecting Mc- McAllen, Texas, uh, to Mexico, and, uh, in just an hour and a half, we- we encountered 44, uh, women, infants, children, men, uh, just, uh, casually walking. No fear. No fear whatsoever. I was with, uh, [inaudible 00:01:59] folks, and, uh- uh, representatives of their, uh, employees union, and just, uh, no feat whatsoever. Just walking straight in, uh, and, uh, and it’s just, uh… It- it is far worse than any of us can even see on- on FOX News or anything, and- and that’s my- my personal experience.

Host Martha Zoller: (02:18)
So, what’s the answer? I mean, what… You know, if you’re elected to the United States Senate-

Gary Black: (02:23)
Yeah.

Host Martha Zoller: (02:23)
… what are you gonna try to do to fix this?

Gary Black: (02:26)
Fir- first of all, we’ve gotta turn, uh, to, uh- uh, President Trump’s policies were correct, and we had- we had put- put some, uh, other- other folks that just told us, you know, the wall was working but then the return to Mexico, the- the- the deportation was working because it was removing the incentive. We have to remove the incentive for people to just casually walk in and invade our country. So, the incentive is, uh, you know, I get to sign up. I get [inaudible 00:02:56]. I’m… I’ll tell you what I’m gonna do, I’m gonna reunite with someone who’s already here illegally, ’cause that’s- that’s what they were- they were telling us. Uh, sometimes, uh, what they see is men come, gather, and- and- and they pay their entrance. They find employment, uh, and then wind up, uh, sendin’ for wife and- and children, and then 30 days walk from Nicaragua.

Gary Black: (03:20)
We- we encountered one lady with a terrified, I would say, five-year-old little girl out in the middle of nowhere in the dark. Th- they very likely were being re- reunited with someone else who was- who was already here illegally, so we… I think what we have to do, Martha, is- is those folks that are here need to be turned around immediately. There needs to be immediate deportation. We- we have to stop… We have to… It’s not just a matter of turning it off, turning the end of the faucet down. We’ve got to seal the border.

Gary Black: (03:52)
Right now, the United States of America, Mc- McAllen, Texas, and I suppose all across that sort of… We do not have a border, in my opinion. And so, establishing a firm border stop, secure our country policy. Anything short of that is derelict. That’s what we’re seeing out of this president. That’s what we’re seeing really out of… I- I [inaudible 00:04:14], you know, Senator Warnock, Senator Ossoff, the entire democratic, uh- uh- uh, delegation from the state of Georgia, I [inaudible 00:04:23]. I’d- I’d like to invite to host ’em. I’d- I’d love to take ’em down there, uh, and- and just see. Because we’ve gotta work together to solve this problem for our country.

Host Martha Zoller: (04:36)
Now, you probably better than anyone understand the need we have for certain types of agricultural workers and other kind of temporary workers. And you know that they… You’ve seen the criticisms of you. There are people out there that say that, you know, you are in favor of amnesty, uh, as it relates to that. And I know that that… I wanna give you a chance to answer that, but also, to- to show people or to tell people because you’ve been working with this issue of having to get the right mix of workers into this country for particular jobs for a very long time.

Gary Black: (05:07)
Yeah, uh, thanks, Martha, because all those statements are, uh, first of all, false and foolish. And, uh- uh- uh, I’ve never been for amnesty. Uh, do we have, uh, do we have to have… And this issue, and H-2A, and those type of guest worker programs are two completely different subjects. I mean, they’re- they’re not even connected. Uh, Georgia’s- Georgia’s the largest user, uh, largest persistent… participant in the federal, the- the legal work of guest worker programs, which a- a lot of people want to do. A lot of produce- producers need, uh, access to such a program where people do work and then they go home, and there still needs to be some revisions of that program, uh, that… to make it- to make it better, but what we’re talkin’ about is the illegal invasion of our country right now.

Gary Black: (05:59)
I- I saw it, and we’re not talkin’ about Mexicans there either. We’re talkin’ about Nicaragua, uh, Guatemala, uh, the Middle East, and then what is horrifying and- and some briefings I received on- on- on Saturday, a- a tremendous influx in Chinese. From all over the globe because they know the poorest nature of this- of this- this border, so, uh, those… That needs… It- it has to be stopped. It has to be stopped now, Martha, or our- our [inaudible 00:06:30] community in Georgia and America’s in jeopardy.

Gary Black: (06:34)
We- we encountered one gentleman, uh- uh, walkin’ up, uh, in one of the groups in, uh, like- like a- a [inaudible 00:06:41] Atlanta Braves hat, so, uh, let your- let your mind wonder rec- you know, wonder where he’s headed.

Host Martha Zoller: (06:46)
Yeah. Yeah.

Gary Black: (06:46)
And- and- and he could be- he could be a new- a new fan during the- during the playoffs for all we know, but [crosstalk 00:06:54]

Host Martha Zoller: (06:54)
Well, you know, when- when Senator Pur-

Gary Black: (06:56)
(laughs)

Host Martha Zoller: (06:57)
When Senator Purdue was in, um, office, he, along with Tom Cotton, introduced something called the RAISE Act where it took a look at-

Gary Black: (07:05)
Yeah.

Host Martha Zoller: (07:05)
… legal immigration and what needed to be done. Because, you know, as you know, we’ve got huge backlogs in the H- H-2A and H-1B visa-

Gary Black: (07:14)
Yup.

Host Martha Zoller: (07:14)
… green cards… You know, people apply for green cards because there’s a two-prong problem, right? I mean, there’s the number one thing, you’ve gotta secure the border. You gotta stop the inflow coming in. If you don’t do that you can’t do anything else. And then we’ve got a legal immigration problem that needs to be updated that really has not been updated since 1986.

Gary Black: (07:34)
Yeah, I- I look- I look forward to being a part of that solution. There- there- there are a lot of ideas out there, and- and probably… that we’re- we’re… This morning is not- not sui- suitable talk about it. We can talk about it in the future, but what- what we have to stop the incentive right now, Martha. That- that is the danger to the country is the incentive and the, uh, absolute lack of fear to just simply walk in. You know, they’ve- they’ve lost… have- have… I was with a- with a- with an agent Friday night who said… you know, who touched- who touched the human side of this, and he- he- he had to pick up a- a dead nine-year-old boy who had walked around aimlessly in, uh, between the river and this, uh, and this- this, uh… I called it the welcome center. Uh, because he just couldn’t find his way. CBP’s actually put… posted arrows now to show you- show you the way to the welcome center.

Host Martha Zoller: (08:28)
Wow.

Gary Black: (08:30)
Uh, ’cause this little- little kid had died of dehydration. And, you know, that… there is a human… There’s no doubt a human side of that, but in order to have the- the human side of- of protecting America, we have to stop this now. Remove the incentives then in tandem work on wh- wh- what… Do we need talent? Do we need, uh- uh, those types of folks that would like to live here? ‘Cause we- we are a nation of immigrants. There should be a process that people follow, and- and- and we should be selective. We should be able to, uh, you know, to engage in that process, as opposed to rollin’ out the red carpet, putting you in the queue line to gather your goods, sign up for free stuff, and then get in- get in a taxi or somewhere and- and go- and go to who knows where.

Gary Black: (09:24)
One- one of the farmers- one of the farmers, Martha, we were in a cornfield that’s in between the Trump wall and the river. And I- I was right there in the cornfield. He said, “We were harvesting corn back in July, and it was like, uh…” And these would be my words, like the Field of Dreams. The- the- there were… These illegal entrants were walking out of the- out of the cornfield and had already somehow been able to get in contact with- with individuals here that obviously they knew. They were hoppin’ in taxis, avoiding the welcome center, avoiding, uh, custom and border patrol, comin’ out of the cornfield like the Field of Dreams, hoppin’ in, uh- uh, transportation, and who knows where they are today. The federal government does not.

Host Martha Zoller: (10:14)
The federal government doesn’t know. States don’t know what people are coming and how many are coming. States don’t know how they’re coming. And, you know, Gary, I know you’re in this process and you’ve got to run a Senate race the way the process is today. But senators do not… are not beholden anymore to the states they came from. They get more involved in being a part of their caucus and doing what the caucus wants them to do. And there’s some guilt on both sides of this, and… Rather than saying, “My first priority is to Georgia. My first priority is to Texas,” Virginia, wherever they’re from. That’s what the founders intended.

Gary Black: (10:52)
It’s exactly, and it’s not… It was never intended to do this so that you could do something else, and that’s one thing as a United States senator I… This is a journey that, uh, I, you know, I see that needs to be taken, and my family, we are- we all in, uh, to try to go fix some things for this republic. I believe this republic’s worth saving, but- but it’s not a, uh, it’s not a joyride [inaudible 00:11:18] to play along so you get to do something else, for me. Uh, I- I think you know that and I- I- I’ve always stood for Georgia. I’m the… I’ve told the Trump administration, uh, what I think… what I thought about, uh, some trade issues, uh, and- and, uh, and- and other things.

Gary Black: (11:36)
And sometimes I agreed, and sometimes I didn’t, but that… I- I… Even- even in the past, you know, previous four years, I’ve stood up for Georgia, uh, even when that wasn’t cool. So, uh, it’s- it’s time that we- we put this as a top priority for national security, for domestic security, for security of our jobs and or economy, and security of the heart of the nation, which is the Constitution. Martha, they’re all in jeopardy because of this poorest… our- our lack of will, uh, to- to- to secure, uh, the border of the United States of America, and it’s gonna be a priority when I’m in the United States Senate in Georgia.

Host Martha Zoller: (12:15)
Gary Black, tell folks how they can get in touch with you and help you with your campaign.

Gary Black: (12:19)
Thanks a lot, Martha. Votegaryblack.com. Since we, uh, last talked, I… we’ve got some wonderful new resources there, and, uh, follow us on- on all the social, uh, social media, uh, platforms, and please, you know, let’s get this word out. We’ve got some very interesting and more to come, uh, this week from a video standpoint and other social media reports this week. Help us get this out, folks. Let’s secure the border and secure it now. Thank you, and God bless.

Host Martha Zoller: (12:45)
Thanks, Gary Black.

Fast Fact: Jeanne Seaver, pro-enforcement candidate for Lt. Gov comes out against foreign cops in Georgia

Phone: 912-663-8728

Jeanne Seaver – Republican Candidate for Lt. Governor declares her opposition to the concept of foreign nationals as law enforcement officers in Georgia.

Savannah, September 19, 2021- Jeanne Seaver made the following statement on the push by powerful lobbying groups on changing current state law addressing law enforcement powers and U.S. citizenship.

“All certified law enforcement officers in Georgia should be American citizens,” says Seaver. “Like most commonsense Georgians, I am steadfast in my opposition to changing current state law that already requires our courageous law enforcement officers to be Americans. I have recently received many calls and emails asking about a well-funded and repeated push by at least one influential special interest group advancing the concept that we should alter state law so as to allow non-citizens to be certified, armed law enforcement officers in Georgia.”

Seaver first became aware of the matter in reports from the Insider Advantage Georgia news outlet and the Immigration Politics GA website.

“This disturbing idea is part of a quiet push to eliminate supposed ‘barriers to the foreign-born’ and includes an additional effort to relax verification of legal immigration status in our occupational licensing process. I want to make it very clear that legislation that would roll back security and public safety would not move in the Georgia senate when I am Lt. Governor.”

“Including my opponents, I call on all Georgia candidates for public office to take a public stand on this dangerous and pandering insanity” said Seaver.

Seaver was equally firm in her support for reasonable levels of legal immigration and welcoming all who have come to the U.S. lawfully in search of a better life.

“Georgians happily welcome legally present workers of all descriptions. But we reject the idea that we should make it easier for illegal immigrants to obtain any help or approval to do business or find employment in the Peach State.”

Letter to Georgia Piedmont Technical College President Dr. Tavarez Holston – Re: Georgia driving and ID credentials used as validation of ‘lawful presence’ * Updated #DACA

August 20, 2021 By D.A. King

“Georgia issues drivers licenses to illegal aliens. Illegal aliens do not have ‘lawful presence.’”

*Update: Several days after we sent the below letter we received a phone call from a high-ranking official at TCSG acknowledging the errors and informing us that the related website (s) were being corrected and that no illegal aliens had been granted admission to any TSCG school.

20 August 2021

Dr. Tavarez Holston
President – Georgia Piedmont Technical College

495 North Indian Creek Drive
Clarkston, GA 30021

Re: Your use of Georgia driving and ID credentials as validation of ‘lawful presence’ for instate tuition purposes.

Dr. Holston,

It is my educated opinion that there exists a serious flaw in your system for allowing students to validate ‘lawful presence’ for purposes of receiving instate tuition. I intend to see this apparent breach of security and compliance corrected and that any student who is not eligible for instate tuition and is currently paying that rate is charged the out-of-state scale. I assume this will require an audit of your past records.

On your ‘new student’ page at the school’s website you have a section on ‘Provide Verification of Lawful Presence in the United States’ that clearly allows students to present a Georgia drivers license and/or a ID card as “validation” of lawful presence:

“Effective January 1, 2012, all students applying for in-state tuition must provide validation of lawful presence in the United States. The following documents will serve as proof of lawful presence in the United States and documentation will be required before you are eligible for consideration of in-state tuition:

  • A current Driver’s License issued by the State of Georgia after January 1, 2008
  • A current ID issued by the State of Georgia after January 1, 2008…”

Georgia issues drivers licenses to illegal aliens. Illegal aliens do not have ‘lawful presence.’

As one example, reports from DDS tell us more than 20,000 illegal aliens who are recipients of the illegal DACA program have been issued these driving and ID credentials. States are fully within their rights to issue drivers licenses and ID Cards to whomever they choose, but these documents in no way demonstrate, validate, prove or indicate ‘lawful presence.’

As someone who has worked on the illegal immigration crisis in the Georgia Capitol since 2004, I am appalled but not surprised to see this “validation” practice in a taxpayer-funded college.

I am sending this letter electronically so as to more efficiently provide your office with needed information for your education.

Directed only at the aforementioned DACA recipients, here are some quotes from other educated sources, which I hope will expand on my claim. To be clear: Deferred action on deportation does indeed make an illegal alien eligible for a Georgia driving and or ID credential. It does not in any way bestow or validate ‘lawful presence.’

* The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against DACA recipient student’s claims of ‘lawful presence’ in Georgia in 2019. On page 26 of the March 2019 11th Circuit opinion the court wrote: “As explained above, appellants are not lawfully present in the United States.”
* “As DACA recipients, they simply were given a reprieve from potential removal; that does not mean they are in any way ‘lawfully present under the (INA) act.” (11th circuit court in the same opinion as above).

* “We have continuously and clearly taken the position in ongoing legal cases that DACA does not confer legal status…”  Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr to WABE News, July, 2017.

* “Illegal immigrants who are granted permission to stay in the country under an Obama administration policy that was announced in June will be eligible for drivers’ licenses in Georgia the state’s attorney general wrote in a letter to the governor.” The Associated Press (writer Kate Brumback) 2012, via the Augusta Chronicle.

In the interest of space and time I will limit my citations to the above for the present time.

It is my contention that if your institution has awarded instate tuition rates to DACA recipients because they were deemed “lawfully present,” you are acting in conflict with state law. I urge you to remove the instructions to students cited above and to adjust your policy and correct any incorrect tuition rates now being granted.

I trust you will regard this heads up as the well-intentioned effort from a concerned taxpayer it is meant to be. I respectfully assure you we will follow up on this very disturbing matter. Please call on me if I can be of any further assistance.

I would be grateful for a reply.

Sincerely,

D.A. King

Biden Regime Flying Illegal Aliens to New York with ‘Secretive’ Nighttime Flights Says Source

August 17, 2021 By D.A. King

Photo: Getty/Breitbart

Note: We have multiple reports that Chattanooga airport has taken at least one fight in the wee hours of the night with busses taking the off-loaded passengers out of town and into rural Georgia. dak

Breitbart News

August 17, 2021

Neil Munro

President Joe Biden’s deputies are covertly flying economic migrants into New York, says Rob Astorino, one of the Republican politicians running for governor.

“The issue is a matter of public safety, public health, and just as important, the public’s right to know,” Rob Astorino told Breitbart News. “We have been kept in the dark on all of this for months by our federal state and local governments, including the county that runs the airport,” he said, adding:

There is no economic fairness in this, especially for Americans who are on the lower end of the economic spectrum because their jobs are most at risk, or will be filled by non-citizens when they start to look for a job. … It is not fair to Americans that are dealing with a pandemic, rising inflation, and a shaky economy to have a President waving in hundreds of thousands — if not millions — of lower skilled people who are going to fill those jobs that Americans may need. There is no fairness whatsoever to that.

“It seems to me the Biden’s approach is more of the United Nations [rather] than an American president,” he added.

Migration damages ordinary Americans’ career opportunities, cuts their wages, raises their rents, curbs their productivity, shrinks their political clout, widens regional wealth gaps, and wrecks their open-minded, equality-promoting civic culture.

For example, Rep. John Katko (R-NY) represents a district in upstate New York with few legal immigrants but many labor-intensive dairy farms that prefer to hire skilled, disposable, and powerless migrants — perhaps including many of Biden’s new migrants — instead of Americans or robots. The per capita income in his district is roughly $35,000, significantly below the $42,000 annual income in New York.

WASHINGTON, DC – APRIL 14: Rep. John Katko (R-NY) speaks during a press conference following a House Republican caucus meeting on Capitol Hill on April 14, 2021 in Washington, DC. The House Republican members spoke about their recent trip to the southern border and the surge of migrant children entering the United States. (Photo by Drew Angerer/Getty Images)

International migration also minimizes the incentive for job-creating investors to create well-paid jobs in the upstate communities that have reared and educated many young Americans. Instead, downstate investors prefer to create jobs near their location because they know migrants will move to those jobs. The New York Times described the migration flow to investors on August 7:

One of the detainees [caught on the border], Alex, 30, from Ecuador, was wearing a bead necklace with a crucifix and an Our Lady of Guadalupe pendant for protection. It was his first attempt to cross into the United States, he said, and he had paid a smuggler thousands of dollars to guide him toward New York. “I’m a noble man,” he said. “I came to fight for a better life, and to provide for my family.” Read the rest here from Breitbart News

Speaker Ralston and Gov Kemp should emulate Oklahoma Republicans on reaping funding from underground economy to raise pay for law enforcement

July 22, 2021 By D.A. King

Image: Twitter

Gold Dome leaders leaving money on the table

Georgia State House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) has proposed a bonus payment to local law enforcement in a $75 million funding package.

We don’t think that goes nearly far enough to help the brave men and women who risk – and lose – their lives fighting the growing crime in Georgia. But across the board raises are apparently out of the question because of the usual reason…funding.

We have a funding solution.

While it is largely ignored in political circles, an enormous amount of money leaves Georgia every year before it can circulate in the state economy.

There exists a proven method to tap into that money and the majority of new revenue would come from drug dealers and illegal aliens.

We have been telling Georgians for years that this vast, untapped source of new revenue is readily available if the Republican-ruled House can find the courage to defy the powerful illegal alien lobby and the money transfer lobby. Oklahoma Republicans passed and implemented this system more than a decade ago.

Georgia voters should be asking why Governor Kemp and all concerned under the Gold Dome are ignoring this proven successful process that would create a new revenue stream estimated to add about $100 million to the Georgia coffers annually. You read that correctly. $100 million. Every year.

The new revenue stream would come without costing Georgia tax-filers a penny.

What is it? A small, 100% refundable fee on funds wired out of Georgia, that taxpayers/filers could easily recoup on their state tax returns.

In simple terms, it goes like this: Let’s say you wire $1000.00 to Aunt Tilly in South Carolina to help with her upcoming surgery costs. When you send the helpful payment out, the wire service would add on a small extra fee  (around 2%) – which you would get back when you file your tax return or a simple, short form explaining that you are not required to file a return because of low income.

The wire transfer agency would be compensated for the collection effort.

The same fee would be added to the money that illegal aliens and drug dealers (and both) send back home from Georgia.

The government of Mexico alone received about $41 billion mostly American dollars last year in what is known as “remittances.” That is more money than Mexico made on oil revenues. Domingo Ramos Medina, a noted economist in Tijuana, says American government assistance that included U.S. stimulus checks and unemployment helped many families in Mexico stay afloat during quarantine.

Bonus reading: Oklahoma Still Shows the Way on Collecting Taxes from Illegal Aliens

Georgia has more illegal aliens than Oklahoma (and many more than border state Arizona). We don’t have figures on how many American dollars are sent out of Georgia by drug dealers, but Atlanta is a known terminus for that insidious organized crime.

Ga Speaker, David Ralston. Photo: Wikipedia.

The income for the state in this proven plan comes from the fact that the huge majority of illegal aliens and drug dealers do not file a tax return. So they would not get back the wire transfer fee they paid in. That money would go into the Georgia budget. Get it?

Fake news prevention for activist liberal media

The liberal Atlanta Journal Constitution newspaper has inaccurately reported that the fully refundable wire transfer fee would be a “tax” and that it would only apply to foreigners sending money to their home countries. And they didn’t seem to like the idea that it would affect illegal aliens. The truth is that the refundable wire transfer fee would apply to everyone who wired money out of Georgia regardless of its final destination.

Everyone who files a state tax return or special short form can get the fee back.

GA Gov. Brain Kemp. Photo: MDJ online

To illustrate the constant growth in revenue this idea has produced in Oklahoma since it became law, we posted collections by year (to 2019) since it began here from the Oklahoma Tax Commission.

Readers who want to help should ask Gov. Kemp (404-656-1776), Speaker Ralston (404-656-5020) and their own state Republican House Reps when they will do what Oklahoma has already done.

The new revenue should be dedicated to pay raises for our state and local law enforcement.

Illegal immigration in Georgia: Former ICE Director Tom Homan Condemns Gov. Brian Kemp

July 1, 2021 By D.A. King

ATLANTA, Ga – Gov. Brian Kemp received the proverbial earful from former ICE Director Tom Homan over his broken campaign promise to deal with illegal immigration in Georgia.

Homan was the keynote speaker at an event held by the Dustin Inman Society, titled “Honoring Immigrants: An Expert, Pro-Enforcement Conversation on Immigration.”

“Georgia’s the next California. You’ve got a governor over here that made promises to his constituents, whose been missing in action on that issue,” Homan told the room. “Keep your word and do the right thing. We’re not asking you to do anything out of the ordinary. We’re asking you to support the enforcement of the nation’s laws.”

Homan told the room he spoke with a special agent about Kemp, who agreed that Georgia’s governor isn’t following through with his promise to curb illegal immigration.

Kemp’s campaign platform took a tough stance on immigration. He even released a “Track and Deport Plan,” where he promised to “create a comprehensive database to track criminal aliens in Georgia. He will also update Georgia law to streamline deportations from our jails and prisons.”

In 2019, Kemp dissolved a controversial Immigration Enforcement Review Board, which civil rights groups viewed as a harassment tool for anti-immigration groups.

“They talk the talk during the campaign, but they won’t walk the walk,” claimed Homan about most politicians. The only exception being President Donald Trump, who has taken decisive action to prevent illegal immigration in the states.

Homan encouraged attendees to call the governor and hold him accountable for his campaign promises.

Border crossings by the numbers
Trump declared a national emergency at the Southern Border on Feb. 15, 2019, because close to 1 million illegal crossings were occurring.

“72 percent of the crossings were either family units or children by themselves. Children under the age of 18 because of that humanitarian crisis, 50 to 60 percent of border patrol agents were no longer on the lines. They were changing diapers, making formula, making hospital runs,” said Homan.

According to the former ICE Director, the lack of agents on the border contributed to the 68,000 opioid deaths of Americans.

“Border is unprotected; drugs are going to flow. Many investigations clearly show criminal cartels in Mexico manage the entire northern Mexican border…They will get 100 to 150 family units, push them through one sector at one time and tie up all the border patrol assets in that area. Meanwhile, they’re moving the bad guys. The guys that don’t want to turn themselves in and claim asylum. [The cartels are] moving MS13 members and drugs over here,” Homan stated.

Doctors Without Borders reported that 31 percent of women crossing the border experienced some form of sexual assault during their journey.

“Children are dying. The cartel is making millions of dollars a year,” asserted Homan.

He also mentioned the decrease in illegal crossings, which are down 72 percent from the high in May 2019. Homan attributes this reduction directly to Trump and the actions that he has taken, including forcing Mexico to enforce its laws.

14,00 children were in American government custody because a criminal organization haul smuggled them across the border. 2,500 families have been separated. Also, the border patrol has saved 4,000 immigrant lives.

Mexico has reportedly removed 86,000 Central Americans this year.

U.S. Customs and Border Patrol published online records pertaining to illegal immigration.

“In Fiscal Year (FY) 2020 To Date (TD), during the month of January, a total of 29,200 individuals were apprehended between ports of entry on our Southwest Border, compared to 32,857 in December and 33,514 in November. In FY19, a total of 851,508 individuals were apprehended between ports of entry on [the] Southwest Border.”

Current numbers for 2020.

ICE Effectiveness
In an effort to clear up misunderstandings about ICE’s role in immigration and arrests, Homan said, “no one ripped a child out of their mother’s arms. It was zero tolerance, not family separation.”

ICE wanted to prosecute people who broke the law, and with zero tolerance, numbers dropped 26 percent in two weeks in the Rio Grande Valley. However, the president stopped the policy after receiving political push back.

Zero Tolerance did result in the separation of families because a child can’t go to the U.S. Marshall if the parent committed a crime.

Homan brought up sanctuary cities and how the policies put ICE agents in danger due to a false narrative that they arrest victims and witnesses.

“89.8 percent of ICE arrests were illegal in the United States and had a criminal conviction or pending criminal charges when arrested because they were locked up in a jail cell,” Homan asserted. “Victims and witnesses shouldn’t be afraid because we’re not looking for them, and we’re not arresting them. Criminal aliens are going to re-offend in the very community in which they live. The immigrant community.” Read the rest here.

Another letter to the editor we didn’t see printed in the liberal AJC – Re: Brian Kemp

June 4, 2021 By D.A. King

Image: Amazon.com

The below letter to the editor was sent more than two weeks ago. Seems a shame to not post it.

Dear editor,

For those who believed his 2018 promises on illegal immigration, a recent AJC story on Gov. Kemp and his reelection campaign strategy contains an amusing quote. “One of the things that happened in ’18 was I got defined as someone I wasn’t, and the way I was defined turned out to be false.” “That’s not going to happen this time because people know where I stand.”

So far it appears the Georgia media has chosen not to mention Kemp’s defiant betrayal of his detailed and clear 2018  pledge “as governor, conservative businessman Brian Kemp will create a comprehensive database to track criminal aliens in Georgia.  He will also update Georgia law to streamline deportations from our jails and prisons.” And the now infamous “I’ve got a big truck in case I need to round up criminal illegals and take them home myself.”

Kemp has not mentioned any of this since he won the election. Pro-enforcement independent voters now know exactly where he stands. We call it the ‘Big Truck Trick.’

“Let ‘Em Go Joe” Biden’s border surge includes people from countries with known terrorist ties

May 19, 2021 By D.A. King

Arizona border warning. Image: Twitter

“You won’t find much information about these operations in the news media. The most comprehensive source of information I have found is Todd Bensman’s book, “America’s Covert Border War: The Untold Story of The Nation’s Battle to Prevent Jihadist Infiltration.”

The Hill

BY NOLAN RAPPAPORT, OPINION CONTRIBUTOR — 05/18/21 09:00 AM EDT

The governors of 20 states sent a letter to President Joseph Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris in which they ask them to take action immediately on the crisis at the southern border.  According to the governors, contrary to what the administration has been saying, the border is not closed or secure.

In fact, Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) has reported a staggering surge in illegal border crossings: 172,000 in March, the highest number in nearly 20 years; as well as 18,890 unaccompanied children, which — the governors note — is the largest monthly number in history.

They blame Biden. He “incentivized an influx of illegal crossings by using irresponsible rhetoric and reversing a slew of policies — from halting border wall construction to eliminating asylum agreements to refusing to enforce immigration laws.”

Brandon Judd, president of the National Border Patrol Council, also blames Biden for the crisis.

A border patrol agent said, “We have so many people coming across, and then we’re out there killing ourselves to catch them, rescue them or whatever it is, and then they’re being released. Why even bother?”

Some agents are reportedly calling Biden “Let ‘Em Go Joe.”

The situation is actually worse than the governors indicated.

CBP’s monthly totals do not include illegal crossers who are detected by surveillance technology but are not apprehended. These crossings are referred to as “got-aways.” Border Patrol Deputy Chief Raul Ortiz said that the agency is recording 1,000 got-aways a day.

Biden chose a futile strategy for controlling the border

Biden appointed Harris to lead the administration’s efforts to persuade Mexico and the Central American countries to address the root causes that push people to flee their homes in the first place. And he is proposing a $4 billion four-year plan for decreasing violence, corruption and poverty in the Central American countries.

The “root causes” approach has been tried already. Between fiscal 2013 and fiscal 2018, the United States gave $2 billion in aid to Central America. And the Obama-Biden administration sought to promote economic prosperity, improved security, and strengthened governance in Central America in 2014 with its U.S. Strategy for Engagement in Central America program.

These programs didn’t work then and aren’t working now.

The border patrol apprehended 85,326 aliens from the northern triangle countries in March and 78,252 in April.

The differences between conditions in Central America and the United States are too great, particularly the economic conditions. The average annual income in El Salvador is $4,000; in Guatemala it is $4,610; and in Honduras it is $2,310. In the United States it’s $65,850.

In any case, it is a long-term strategy, and the current border crisis requires immediate action.

Illegal crossers from other countries

Biden’s root causes strategy ignores illegal crossers from countries other than Central America and Mexico, and the number of illegal crossers from the other countries has been increasing rapidly. It more than tripled from fiscal 2014 to fiscal 2019, increasing from 37,000 per fiscal year to 118,000.

And their numbers have continued to rise.

CBP statistics indicate that 57,690 of the 342,673 illegal crossers who were apprehended at the southern border in March and April of this year were not from northern triangle countries or Mexico. At this rate, the yearly total of aliens from other countries will likely be more than 346,000, which would be almost three times as many as in fiscal 2019.

The diversity of the illegal crossers is reflected further by the fact that at least 40 different languages were spoken by the nearly 30,000 asylum seekers who were waiting in Mexico for an asylum hearing as of the end of March 2021.

The “other countries” category includes international terrorists…

Gov Kemp signs disputed interstate compact bills: An open letter to (most of) Georgia’s Republican lawmakers

May 10, 2021 By D.A. King

“To be clear, I am not in the camp that trusts Gov. Kemp on illegal immigration statements.”

May 10, 2021

Re: HB 34, HB 268, HB 395 – interstate compacts on professional licensing

Dear Georgia Republican state legislators,

The professional licensing compacts you voted for in the 2021 General Assembly are apparently now something of “an issue”. We hope our work from here is connected to your increased interest in and investigation of these bills and how they may effect illegal immigration in Georgia.

Interstate compacts are new to us. But along with other illegal immigration-related code sections I helped create, improve and defend, I have been working on OCGA 50-36 -1 since 2006.

I first noticed HB 34 on the morning of Feb 25 – just hours before it passed the House. After a quick but careful read of the lengthy bill, I sent out emails to several House members alerting them to possible problems the proposed compact may create with the existing eligibility verification system for public benefits. I also called and emailed the Speaker’s office. I confirmed receipt of my email.

I pasted the text of my original Feb. 25 email into the first blog post done on HB 34. I hope you have seen examples of my time consuming write-ups on these bills. I assure you this was not done out of boredom.

A House member who I have known for years followed up on my concerns in February. “…I went to legislative counsel on HB 34 and you were right, D.A…..” I wanted to be wrong.

I also became aware of HB 268 and shortly afterwards, HB395. I knew the Georgia Chamber of Commerce was pushing the compacts contained in this legislation and that these agreements could effect illegal immigration. There are no examples of the GA Chamber advocating on the side of immigration enforcement available to send you.

After the House passed all three of the bills, I sent notes to several members of the senate – including the Senate Majority Leader – asking for line numbers on language that would eliminate my fears that the interstate compacts would reduce security on immigration verification. The only response I received was from my own senator. There was no citation of language that would alleviate my fears. I also personally asked several interested Georgians to ask for the same information from their own senators. I have not talked to anyone who even received a reply.

I also learned about the GORRC and the involvement of the Georgia Secretary of State office in the council’s procedure in consideration of the compact legislation. I continued to pursue the hope that somebody in power would cite language I may have overlooked in the bills to remove my concerns that illegal aliens could access the professional licenses covered in the measures. I spoke to an official in the SoS office, sent a request for comment and information – and again asked for citation of a line number to language that would remove my fears. There was no response other than confirmation of receipt.

I now see a May 6, 2021 opinion letter from legislative counsel to a House member who apparently asked the same question another House member asked about HB 34 in February. This time the opinion is that the sentence “nothing herein prevents the enforcement of any other law of any member state that is not inconsistent with the Compact” represents language that preserves the current system of immigration verification.

I read the cited sentence several times in my review of the bills. I do not agree that it will automatically result in use of verification system – including the affidavit process – in processing applications for professional licenses from applicants with existing credentials from other states. But it is my fervent hope that the most recent opinion reflects how the new laws will actually be implemented.

I need to add that knowledge gained from nearly twenty years of studying illegal immigration and according to retired ICE agents, retired Border Patrol Agents and several Georgia sheriffs, a background check by law enforcement does not reveal illegal immigration status unless the alien has already been arrested and fingerprinted. And that hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens have valid Social Security numbers.

My interest in the bills also led me to legislation that put Georgia in an interstate compact on nursing licenses in 2017. (SB 109). I was not aware of that legislation at that time. We will soon know if if the verification system required in OCGA 50-36-1 has been followed in the reciprocal process of licensing nurses from other states since that law was put in place in 2017.

In closing, I respectfully extend my sincere thanks to Rep Chuck Martin for taking the time this month to investigate the effects the legislation may have on illegal immigration and the law requiring verification of ‘lawful presence’ for applicants for professional licenses.

In the recent past an expert on the issue who is willing to help legislators fight illegal immigration in Georgia was not automatically regarded with suspicion.

I respectfully put forth the hope that moving forward, Republican lawmakers ask how legislation may effect illegal immigration before they vote.

So there is no confusion on my message, two opposite opinions on this matter have come out of legislative counsel. I have seen Gov. Kemp’s *signing statements on the three bills.

UPDATE: I have also seen the letter from Reps Belton and Werkheiser to the House Republican caucus asking for help in convincing the governor to sign the bills.

  • Veto Messages and Signing Statements

We will follow up to see actual practice.

To be clear, I am not in the camp that trusts Gov. Kemp on illegal immigration statements.

Will Georgia’s Brian Kemp sign bills to dismantle legal immigration verification?

April 15, 2021 By D.A. King

Kemp voted for the verification system as state senator

Topic may be worthy of consideration at upcoming Republican conventions

The governor can sign, veto or take no action. Legislation becomes law if he does nothing. May 10 is final day in process.

Pro-enforcement Georgians are watching to see if Gov. Brian Kemp signs several Republican bills that apparently quietly begin to dismantle the system that verifies lawful presence of applicants for public benefits. Examples are  HB 395, HB 268 and HB 34 .

GA Gov. Brain Kemp. Photo: MDJ online

The Georgia Chamber of Commerce pushed these measures with letters requesting support placed on legislators’ Chamber desks. Two of those letters are posted on the Dustin Inman Society website.

Related: Georgia Chamber distributing letters…

State law implemented in 2006 was an effort to prevent illegal aliens from accessing public benefits. The goal was to make Georgia less hospitable to illegal immigration. Professional licenses are public benefits under that law. When he was state senator the governor voted for the legislation that created the verification mandate.

Georgia code (OCGA 50-36-1) requires that an applicant for public benefits swear on a notarized affidavit that he is either a U.S. citizen or a “lawfully present” and eligible foreign national. The applicant is required to present verifiable document to prove that eligibility. The foreign national’s ‘lawful presence’ is then verified using a federal database known as ‘SAVE.’

The legislation in question puts Georgia in interstate “compacts” that essentially require reciprocity in licensing and issuance procedures. “Interstate compacts are contracts that are negotiated between states. The US Supreme Court has held that the term “compact” should be understood to refer to a “contract” according to the Library of Congress.

Image: Twitter

Georgia would be joining compacts that honor the professional license of covered occupations for people who relocate from one participating state to another. If another state in the compact has issued a professional license to a resident for one of the covered professions the idea is to issue a license for the same job here without most of the current processing if that person migrates to Georgia.

The bills include provisions for quicker licensing for spouses of active duty military personnel.

If Kemp signs the bills new law will eliminate the step of verifying the “lawful presence” of the covered applicant. The abbreviated licensing process would result in quicker participation in the workforce – and a more hospitable experience for illegal aliens.

The Georgia Chamber says this will make Georgia “a better state for business.”

Including the Speaker’s office and the Senate Majority Leader, the Dustin Inman Society alerted individual legislators in both the House and senate about the result of the bills becoming law. We also asked several state senators for citation of line numbers in the legislation containing language that would dispute our analysis of these bills. The sole response came from Senator Kay Kirkpatrick (R- Marietta) who replied,  “…these bills are important to the military and passed the Senate unanimously. Compact language cannot be changed.” We are grateful to Sen. Kirkpatrick.

It appears the legislative choice was between compliance with the dictates of the business lobby or the preservation of procedures put in place to make Georgia less attractive to illegal immigration. The business lobby won out. Again.

Georgia is home to more illegal aliens than is Arizona, according to the U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security.

Absence of media coverage or Republican resistance

We note the past press attention and the brutal fight to implement the verification law in question and the unsurprising absence of liberal media coverage on the decision to further the process of dismantling the law.

Between the three bills, there was only one “no” vote in the House and Senate. It came from Rep Matt Dollar (R- Marietta) who voted against HB 34.

We repeat:  then-Senator and Public Safety Committee Chairman Brian Kemp voted in favor of the 2006 ‘Georgia Security and Immigration Compliance Act’  (SB529) that put the verification of lawful presence for public benefits in place (senate vote # 1037).

“Georgians are “fed up” with illegal immigration,” Kemp told the AJC newspaper then. They still are. But as Governor, Kemp is conspicuously silent on the entire crisis.

As can be seen by a recent letter written by an angry retired federal immigration agent, and the Dustin Inman Society’s Brian Kemp page, most conservatives are not willing to overlook that silence.

The phone number at Gov. Kemp’s Capitol office is 404-656-1776
